Vehicle fire ties us traffic on I-55 in Madison Co. | Transportation

A vehicle fire tied up traffic on Interstate 55 in Madison County Thursday evening.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation all the lanes of southbound I-55 south of the Highway 463 exit were blocked due to the vehicle fire.

The left lane of I-55 northbound in this area was also temporarily blocked by a firetruck.

The vehicle that caught fire was eventually moved and traffic moved slowly in the area for some time.

There was no immediate word on injuries or the cause of the fire.
