In recognition of National Infant Immunization Week, the Mississippi State Department of Health is offering free routine immunizations for infants and children through 18 years of age at all county health departments the week of April 22-26.

Vaccinations in this promotion include protection for infants, children and adolescents against the following diseases:

RIDGELAND, MS (MSNewsNow) - Registration for students who’ll be entering kindergarten in the fall and would like to attend Ann Smith Elementary Schhol, will be held April 3.   Beginning at 8:30 a.m., parents are encouraged to bring their child to watch a short presentation by the current kindergarten class.

The Madison the City Board of Supervisors recently recognized the Madison Central boys soccer team on its state championship.

Delta Tech to host high school welding competition

Delta Tech to host high school welding competition

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Delta Technical College will host a welding competition for central and southern Mississippi high school and vocational school students this month.

The competition is set for March 8 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Ridgeland at 113 Marketridge Drive.

Delta Tech hopes the competition will encourage high school vocational students to continue to practice in the mechanical trades fields and also show support for local vocational programs.

RHS students recognized for academic achievement

Tuesday evening, the annual Ridgeland High School Academic Banquet featured a dinner and recognition service to reward the top ten percent of both the junior and senior classes for continued academic excellence.
