PRVWSD requests input at community meeting

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District needs feedback from the community to help prepare a comprehensive master plan for the district's properties.

The district has contracted with the Central Mississippi Planning and Development District to create the plan, according to a press release from the PRVWSD. The district plans to use the master plan as a guideline for future property use.

The PRVWSD is seeking input from the community on future growth and use of lands within the district at a community meeting Monday, May 13.

A group of women from Jackson, Brandon, Flora and Madison recently toured Ricks Memorial Library on a literary tour, according to the library's Facebook page. The women also visit other sites while in Yazoo City, including the museum and cemetery.

RIDGELAND, MS (MSNewsNow) - A Ridgeland subdivision will soon be connected to the city's multiuse trail system.

The City of Ridgeland announced this week an asphalt path will be built to connect the Trace Ridge subdivision to the existing multiuse trail.

Construction has started on a project at the multiuse trailhead at Rice Road and Harbor Drive in Ridgeland.

The city said a new pavilion and restroom facilty is being built.

The project is scheduled to be complete Feb. 10.

Natchez Trace Parkway to reopen 8-mile section

RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - The closed section of the Natchez Trace Parkway south of Ridgeland will reopen Nov. 13.

The National Park Service announced Monday that repairs to the damaged section of the road are complete.

The 8-mile section of the parkway from Ridgeland to Clinton had been closed to vehicles since March.

The National Park Service partnered with the Federal Highway Administration to make the repairs after engineers identified instability to an embankment that could have caused to roadway to collape.

Construction is moving right along on the new Adam's Project Universal Design Playground at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

The city hopes the project will be done by the end of November.
