New Stage Theatre, CARA partner for 'A Christmas Memory'

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - New Stage Theatre and Mississippi's largest no-kill shelter, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, have partnered together for the theatre's upcoming holiday musical.

New Stage will present Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory Nov. 29 through Dec. 16. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Donations pour in for neglected dog

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Madison Ark Animal Rescue has received an outpouring of donations and support after posting a picture on Facebook of a severely neglected dog the organization rescued in Jackson this week.

Tuesday, a Madison Ark volunteer found Mac on Downing Street in Jackson’s Fondren neighborhood. He was lying in the road near death.

“He was a few breaths away from dying,” said Director Hart Koller.

This week's Pet of the Week is Izabelle Grace. She is a 6 to 7-week-old blue heeler.

Izabelle Grace is available for adoption at Community Animal Rescue & Adoption or CARA.

CARA says Izabelle Grace is very active and loves everyone. She will likely grow to around 30-35 pounds and will need a fenced in yard.

CARA is a no-kill animal rescue in Jackson.
