Inaugural Madison Co. Sheriff's Department Explorer Class graduates
Nine local teens recently graduated from the Madison County Sheriff's Department's inaugural Explorer Class, announced Sheriff Randy Tucker.
The Explorer program is part of the Boy Scouts of America and allows youth to see how law enforcement works. The program includes a boot camp and classroom atmosphere.
About 200 people attended the graduation, including law enforcement from the across the state and Rep. Gregg Harper.
The 2012 Explorer Class included:
- Jordin Booker from Ridgeland
- James Blakely Brooks from Madison
- John Lawrence Cannon from Madison
- Shelton Champion from Canton
- Justina Michell Divine from Canton
- Tavious Jarrett Lunsford from Ridgeland
- Molly Grace Ratcliff from Canton
- John Henry Sullivan from Canton
- Shekarris D’unta Taylor from Flora
