Man sentenced for failing to pay $40K in child support | Crime

MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A Madison County man has been sentenced for failing to pay $40,000 in child support. James Coy Fendley, 41, pleaded guilty to felony non-support of a child Monday.

Fendley was sentenced to five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years suspended and post release supervision.

The judge ordered Fendley to immediately pay $5,000 toward his $40,000 in back child support and court costs. He was also ordered to pay $250 a month extra on top of his regular child support obligation until his debt is paid in full.
