Mississippi Crime Stoppers awards Ridgeland detective

 Mississippi Crime Stoppers awarded the Law Enforcement Coordinator Lifetime Service Award for 2013 to Frank Dillard, detective, City of Ridgeland.

Dillard has been the local coordinator with Mississippi Crime Stoppers for the Ridgeland Police Department since 1996. He has been extremely active with Crime Stoppers in tracking down leads.

Man sentenced for failing to pay $40K in child support

MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) - A Madison County man has been sentenced for failing to pay $40,000 in child support. James Coy Fendley, 41, pleaded guilty to felony non-support of a child Monday.

Fendley was sentenced to five years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years suspended and post release supervision.

Ridgeland police looking for Renaissance thieves

RIDGELAND, MS (MSNewsNow) - The Ridgeland Police Department is trying to identify three woman who investigators say are responsible for stealing a wallet and purse at Renaissance at Colony Park over the last week.

Police say the women stole a purse at Barnes and Noble Thursday and a wallet at Sweet Peppers Deli Saturday.

Ridgeland man accused of solicitation without permit in Rankin County

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Ridgeland man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for violation of Rankin County’s Transient Business Ordinance.

Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey says Arlo Raynald Taylor has a previous conviction for violating the county ordinance earlier this year.

Deputies responded to multiple calls Tuesday about a man going to residences on White Road near Florence wearing a black leader jacket and driving a brown Tahoe.

The man was reportedly telling homeowners he wanted to clean their carpets.

Ridgeland resident accused of selling bogus Viagra

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - Attorney General Jim Hood says a Ridgeland woman has been arrested for selling counterfeit Viagra from her business.

Sixty-one-year-old Alicia Ospina is accused of selling the counterfeit drug at Botanica Yoruba located at 6610 Old Canton Road in Ridgeland.

2 arrested, 1 sought in Ridgeland apartment burglary

RIDGELAND, MS (WLBT) - One man and a juvenile are in custody and another juvenile is being sought following a residential burglary in Ridgeland Tuesday night.

Ridgeland police say 20-year-old Christopher D. Rhymes and a 16-year-old boy, both of Ridgeland, have been charged with one count of residential burglary. Another 16-year-old male suspect remains at large.

Police were called to a disturbance at the Northbrook Apartments located at 107 Pine Knoll Drive around 7:30 Tuesday night.
