Literary Tour Group visits Yazoo City

A group of women from Jackson, Brandon, Flora and Madison recently toured Ricks Memorial Library on a literary tour, according to the library's Facebook page. The women also visit other sites while in Yazoo City, including the museum and cemetery.

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) - The Ridgeland Fine Arts Festival, formerly the Renaissance Fine Arts Festival, is coming up Apri 6-7.

The festival is held annually at the Renaissance at Colony Park. The festival is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

New Stage Theatre, CARA partner for 'A Christmas Memory'

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) - New Stage Theatre and Mississippi's largest no-kill shelter, Community Animal Rescue and Adoption, have partnered together for the theatre's upcoming holiday musical.

New Stage will present Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory Nov. 29 through Dec. 16. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

'Donor Milk: The Documentary' screening in Madison

A new documentary is being released in efforts to raise awareness about the value of donor breast milk.

Kings West Pictures and Mothers' Milk Bank of Mississippi are offering a screening of "Donor Milk: The Documentary" Oct. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Malco Grandview Cinema in Madison.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mothers' Milk Bank of Mississippi. Tickets are $25.

WellsFest to benefit Farish Street YMCA Saturday

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - WellsFest 2012 is this weekend at Jamie Fowler Boyll Park next to Smith-Wills Stadium on Lakeland Drive.

The event will raise money for the renovation of the Farish Street YMCA playground.

WellsFest includes a 5K run and walk and one-mile fun run at 8 a.m., a pet parade at 9 a.m. and live music, food booths, children's activities, arts and crafts vendor area, plant sale and silent auction from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
