Amazon dianthus handles the state’s hot summers

If you’re looking for a plant that is attractive now but looks its best in the cooler months, you may be interested in the Dianthus. This is a group of versatile flowering plants that look good year-round.

Dianthus is called by many names, but the common name “pink” really is a good description. Colors include pink and red, but there are also nice white and lavender selections.

Committee, and the incumbent candidate met for a injunction
hearing Friday morning.

Judge Forest Johnson granted a
preliminary injunction, which will allow for testimony of allegations of
improper election activities, to be heard in court.

MADISON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now)- A crash involving a motorcycle on Interstate 55 killed one person and shutdown all southbound lanes Friday morning.

According to the Madison Police Department, a motorcyclist crashed in the southbound lanes at 7:49 a.m. on I-55 in Madison County. The incident happened near the 110 mile marker and involved the motorcycle and a tractor trailer.

The Madison Police Department is warning motorists about a lane closure Friday.

According to the police department's Facebook page, one lane of Madison Avenue will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Liberty Park to near Grandview Boulevard due to construction.

Madison police recommend motorists take an alternate route if possible.

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now)- The Ridgeland Police department is hoping the public can help identify the two individuals caught on camera wanted in connection to using a stolen credit card.

According to Detective Don Martin with RPD, the male and female pictured in the surveillance photos used a stolen credit card at Kroger, Walmart, a liquor store and a Chinese restaurant in Ridgeland.

The duo racked up more than $1,000 in fraudulent charges, adds Detective Martin.

Police ID recovered Reservoir boater

Emergency responders were called to the Reservoir around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to search for Puckett, who was ejected from the boat.

ROSS BARNETT RESERVOIR (Mississippi News Now)- The search for a missing boater comes to an end Thursday morning at the Barnett Reservoir after searchers discovered the man's body in the water.

"We came out and stayed last night you know until about 1 a.m., you know just praying for a miracle," said David Cooksey, a close friend to the victim.

Madison County Emergency Management Director Butch Hammack confirms the body of 43-year-old Reggie Puckett, of Florence, was discovered in the water by a sonar device used by the rescue team around 8 a.m.
